Kahaani is an 2012 Indian Bollywood thriller film directed and co-produced by Sujoy Ghosh. It stars Vidya Balan and Parambrata Chatterjee in lead roles. Balan plays a pregnant woman in search of her husband and the father of the child. The film is Vidya’s fourth female-centric film after Ishqiya, No One Killed Jessica & The Dirty Picture. The film released on 9 March 2012, was well received by critics.
PLOT : The story is about Vidya Bagchi (Vidya Balan), who arrives in Kolkata from London to find her missing husband Arnab Bagchi. Seven months pregnant and alone in a festive city, she begins a relentless search for her husband. With nothing to rely on except fragments from her memories about him, all clues seem to reach a dead end when everyone tries to convince Vidya that her husband does not exist. She slowly realizes that nothing is what it seems. In a city soaked in lies, Vidya is determined to unravel the truth about her husband for herself and her unborn child. Even at the cost of her own life, her search continues with mysterious turns and events.At the last it turns out that Vidya was neither pregnant nor her husband was missing(but was already dead).Her main aim was to search and kill a person named Damji which she very cleverly did in guise with the help of police
